Have you ever wondered what the world of an entrepreneur looks like? I mean a real entrepreneur??

This is the thing, our definition of an entrepreneur is probably incorrect. When you think of an entrepreneur are your first thoughts Richard Branson - Virgin? It would have been mine all those years ago. 20 years ago I had a dream, a dream to become someone, a dream to make a real difference in the world, a dream to help people to think better, as a result of how thinking better helped me in such a difficult time in my life. Never did that dream include wanting to become an entrepreneur, in fact I only thought one got to wear the honorable badge of the entrepreneur when they made their first million dollars. So given I was nowhere near even paying myself a wage in the beginning I most certainly was not seeing myself as one of those ‘E’ people. That was all until I read the book ‘The E-Myth by Michael Gerber. Instantly I stood tall and proud and said I’m one of those people too. I have a service to offer and so that is my gift to the world so that means I am an entrepreneur too. Woo hoo!

There has never been a greater time in history for people, especially women and those who choose to weave motherhood into their life, to explore and or start the entrepreneurial journey themselves. Think Uber, think Airbnb. Its time to think right outside the box. The very thing that you may do one day to earn an income, may not even exist yet. Imagine that!! Some of the new adventures ahead for me are with my husband where now we are brave enough to partner together and combine our two passions together to create something that has never been done before. All because others have gone ahead before me and given me permission to step out and give it a go too.

If there is something that you have wanted to do for a very long time and fear has held you back then I want you to start to dream about what you would like life to look like instead. What are you prepared to do to make that your reality? It may start very small as something on the side or you may jump into something big. Either way carefully consider the season you are in. What I mean by this is, if your relationships or your health are not flourishing then committing to building a business providing a service or a product is not going to help you give these areas of your life any more attention, it will be the complete opposite. I’m always going to encourage you to discover your own healthy balance. There is no perfect balance ratio as it varys in so many ways for all of us. However, I am a strong advocate for healthy families. Families that put their health and their relationships first. I have seen far too many families breakdown due to financial pressures or die prematurely unable to enjoy all their hard work.

I encourage you to go after the dream, I just ask that you not neglect your health and your relationships along the way. Without your health you can’t enjoy the fruits of your labour and without a happy and functional family, you have no-one to share it with.

Believing in you.
